Music Industry Trust Registry Discussion
Jenny Pretz was highlighted for her efforts in understanding the governance and interoperability aspects within the Trust Task Force, particularly regarding metadata tags in the CAWG specification. The group is exploring the roles of CAWG, industry, and other organizations in establishing governance structures, with Jenny presenting a diagram to illustrate her understanding of how governance and interoperability could work within her community.
Jenny, representing the RIAA and DDEX, discussed the challenges of creating a trust registry for the music industry. She explained that the industry lacks a central ID system and has traditionally used XML messages for communication between well-known organizations. Jenny proposed the idea of a "registry of registries" to accommodate both organizations and the creative community. She sought input on whether a trust registry was necessary beyond existing certifications and how to structure the process for organizations to participate.
